Still tweaking Carrie’s voluminous oats tutorial. I’ve been experimenting with the power settings on my microwave and I think it has at least helped a little bit. Still nothing that I’d call particularly “voluminous’ though.
Typical pre-long run fare. With protein powder, almond extract, cinnamon, chia seeds, flaxseed, pumpkin, bloobs, and drippy almond butter.
Sorry that I’m not posting the rest of my eats for the day, but my boyfriend was in town and that’s where my focus was!
We did enjoy some mediocre Mediterranean take-home, though. At least it didn’t make me sick! However, I’m starting to think that all food that comes in bar form is now off-limits. Even my LUNA bar, which I used to be fine eating, left me feeling sub-par. Too bad a have kind of a large stash. So what’s a girl with a bar stash that she can’t eat to do?
Have a giveaway, of course!

Happy Birthday to me!
Thank-you for all of the birthday wishes via Facebook (UCR is not on Facebook yet, but I do have a regular page for myself), Twitter, text message, phone, mail, and in-person!
The day was fairly low-key. I was uber tired from going to a Rapture party last night and we didn’t get home until fairly late. It was definitely one of those night where everyone thought I was drunk because I was just so tired. Yes, apparently tired Ellen resembles drunk Ellen.
My mom walked in her 5K for Weight Watchers this morning. She finished in around 50 minutes, so she was pleased. I guess she celebrated by going to Day #2 of the Art Fair and buying some lawn ornaments made from screwdrivers, haha.
Another very chill day, filled with an ABC Family Harry Potter marathon, reading, and errands. After Lyle left to drive back home, I went to the health foods store to get gear for my blogger exchange. I’m legitimately jealous of the things that I bought for her, as they were things I probably wouldn’t normally try on my own, but that’s one of the things that I think make exchanges fun!
Then it was off to Kroger to pick up some of the more “normal” staples. F4L is good for more local and hard-to-find items, which is why I selected it for the exchange, but my Kroger has a decent enough selection to get my staple items and get me through the week if I don’t have anything special or specific in mind.
When I got home my daddy was waiting for me with my present: An Amazon Kindle 3G! No idea what I want to download first! Any suggestions?
Recovery run day. An easy 2 miles plus a little bit of core and upper-body work.
Man is it getting hot out. And early too! The past three days have been around 80 degrees in the heat of the day, so I’m waking up at 6am and it’s already in the 60s. Phew, so glad that I have a hand-held water bottle now! I have a feeling that it will be coming out of its packaging in the very near future to see some use.
No soreness from yesterday! I think that all the walking that I made myself do really is to thank for that, since I didn’t ice at all and I’ll be the first to admit that my refueling wasn’t great yesterday. Although it was a little hard to get my legs to want to move this morning; again, not too terrible.
