What I Ate Whenever

Protein cereal. Kashi GoLean, Sunwarrior, almond butter, blueberries, and soymilk

Green Monster with banana, spinach, and "cake batter" extract. Topped with strawberry-banana puffs, banana chips and buckwheat groats

Voluminous oats with Sunwarrior and almond extract atop flaxseed meal and chia seeds, topped with blueberries, blueberry preserves, cinnamon, and almond buttah

Bear Naked Vanilla Almond Crunch granola with blueberry preserves and almond butter. My favorite snack! Crumbled some ginger cats in there too.

What I Am Doing OtherWise

Did well on my second Spanish exam. I actually received a higher mark that I was supposed to because the professor didn’t catch the mistake that I made. Yay for an error being made in my favor!

Yesterday marked the beginning of a 2-week fitness program that my group designed in our Kinesiology class. It’s not a great plan, but it’s balanced I think and we have to actually do all of the workouts to receive full credit on the project. It’s me and 3 other guys; they may have the strength, but I have better endurance than any of them.

I’m getting together Wednesday with my dad for a (fairly) early Father’s Day lunch at Chipotle. I’ve never actually been to one, but I know that they have vegan options and, after I’ve gone, I get to cross another item off of my 40 in 400 list! Have you checked that out yet, by the way?

Work is a little crazy right now, since my boss is gone across the country for the rest of the month. In the meantime, I’ve been given a bunch of projects to work on, which I’m happy to do, it’s just hard to ask questions when I need to, so, progress is slow, but I’ve been enjoying the independence.

Just a little over 2 more weeks until the end of the session! Then I’ll only be going to class twice a week for 3 hours each time. Much more manageable to me and it means that I get to start running in the morning again! I like to get my workouts out of the way as soon as possible, but this semester I only get to run once a week in the morning. Given that it is summer and heating up (hydrate people!), sometimes it gets hot so fast that I don’t get to work out outside at all and have to do a DVD. True, my collection has grown and there’s less monotony, but I still prefer being outdoors where I’m becoming less pale-skinned.

I guess that that pretty much covers my past 2 days. I’m going grocery shopping later on because there is literally nothing even resembling a fruit in my house right now and that is just not okay. This girl gets sick of grains pretty quick and cereal just doesn’t have the appeal that it once did when I was a cereal monster in desperate need of cereal rehab. Later y’all!

——————————————————————————–

Anyone want to try out that Core workout and tell me what they think? – It dang near killed me as I was doing it, but I didn’t feel sore at all afterwards.

Are you a morning, midday, afternoon, etc. kind of workout person? – Morning all the way! Though in reality most of my workouts end up being afternoon or early evening.

  1. I can’t stand supermans just because they hurt my back and my face gets red and all that. Though it would probably lessen if I just did them in the first place…

Annnnnnyways, I’d much rather do my workout in the morning to “get it over with” and also because I’m afraid I wouldn’t have time/desire/energy to do them later and then the world would go spiraling. 😛

Congrats on the 40 in 400 achievement and the Spanish scores!

  2. I workout whenever I have time! Which is usually in the afternoons or after dinner!
That group fitness project sounds fun!

Where do you get those strawberry banana puffs!?? They look so good and I love that they’re heart shaped!!!!

  3. I want to try that core workout but I’m going to Zumba tonight so I don’t know whether I’ll do it today, haha. which is funny because I’m a morning workout person. But you take classes when you can, right?
I love all your eats- ginger cats are a must!! SO GOOD!! Have you tried cinnamon schoolhouse cookies? yum.

  4. Get the guacomole at chipotle!! It’s soooo good.
I’m gonna try out your core workout tomorrow. I’m writing a note to self right now so I don’t forget it! I’m a morning workout person, so I’ll tag it right by my bed and I’ll see it when I wake up.
Cake batter extract sounds interesting? I’ve never heard of that! I’m gonna go seek it out.

  5. I did the ab workout! So I definitely felt it while I was doing it, especially during the 1 minutes intervals. It was weird though because afterwards I felt pretty fatigued in my “middle abs” (rectus abdominis?), but I felt like there were a lot of oblique moves so I was surprised that I didn’t feel it more there. I liked the workout overall though, especially since I tend to neglect my lower back. The shoulder lifts made me burn! I’m gonna share it on my blog tomorrow, so I’ll link back here!
