Trader Joe’s Recap

First off, apologies for the terrible picture quality. My kitchen gets horrible lighting and the ones we have installed do less than nothing.

I went to Trader Joe’s for the first time yesterday after my gastroenterology appointment. I considered it a self-reward, haha. Check out all that I walked away with (although I wanted to get so much more).

Picture heavy post, coming atcha!

Banana chips, because I love them! Especially dipped in sunbutter.

Dark chocolate edamame. My mother actually cringed at these. I figure, if I'm going to be ingesting massive amounts of chocolate, I might as well get some protein in there as well! (7g per serving, FYI.)

Cinnamon almonds. Chelsey (@cleaneatingchelsey) sent me a bag of these when we did an exchange and I haven't been able to think of much else since.

Gluten-free waffles. I was going to buy some more Van's waffles when I went grocery shopping this week anyway, and these are a great deal!

Kashi GoLean. Because my Kroger is always sold out and I'm almost out!

Ginger Cats. I saw these on Kristin's (@iowagirleats) blog and knew that I had to try them.

Almond butter and peanut butter. I seriously wanted to buy every single one of their nut butters because they had SO many more, but I unfortunately reined myself in. 😦

I may have the chance to visit a different (yet still equally as far away) TJ’s in 2 weeks after my 10K race. *fingers crossed* that it happens because I already want to go back and get more things to try!

Dear the Trader Joe’s forces that be: PLEASE bring a TJ’s to my town! Or at least within 20 minutes, because I consider that to be the farthest that I would be willing to travel on a weekly basis to get groceries. πŸ™‚

  1. Those cinnamon almonds are the best!! I think I told you I bought a bag after I saw them on your blog.. omg. They’re like the warm cinnamon nuts you get at the fair.. except.. not warm.

That pb is my favorite pb to buy. It’s simple, has one ingredient, is nice and soft, and is only 2 bucks. You can’t beat that!

I’m sending a message to the TJ forces for you right now.

  2. AGREED! bring TJs to london!!! looks like such a great loot! the pb and ab and the nanner chips and the cinnamon almonds are da best!!

  3. Wow what an amazing loot!! I’m reallyyyy jealous lol! I could quite easily indulge myself in everything you got – it all looks soo yum!! I SO SO wish we had a TJs here in the UK 😦

  4. I wish I had a TJ’s near me too! Oh and a whole foods too! Either would be great! Those nut butters look so good…especially the PB!

  5. I tried their dark chocolate edamame once when they were sampling it, but I had no idea there was that much protein in a serving! I’m thinking I will pick those up next time… I’ve never tried the Ginger cats either but I always consider buying them when im there. Maybe next time, so let me know how they are!!

  6. Wow! I was at TJ’s the other day too! I drive about 45 minutes to hit up TJ’s and Whole Foods. The are like, right next to each other! Win. I usually go every other month just for fun. We travel to the one in Rochester, if you are familiar with that area. I love that town, so many ‘green’ activities always going on!

  8. I don’t have a Trader Joe’s near me either (none in my state!). Those cinnamon almonds look amazing though.

  9. AAAH I can’t WAIT to go to TJs in less than 2 months!! Haha I think I’m gonna end up buying ALL of those things! πŸ˜› Seriously though, I don’t think I’ll have your self-restraint when it comes to buying nut butter hehe! πŸ˜‰
